Everyone understands the risks of smoking, but a nicotine addiction can be one of the most difficult habits to break. At the Richard Rocker Clinic for Functional Health, we have developed a programme that will enable you to lead a longer, healthier and smoke-free life. Our Smoking Cessation Programme draws on our unique expertise on combating both the psychological and physical aspects of nicotine addiction.
On one hand, we will use hypnosis to combat the psychological nicotine addiction. When done properly, hypnosis has proven to be a very effective tool in fighting addictions of all descriptions. The other aspect of a nicotine addiction, however, is not addressed by hypnosis. This is the physical addiction – where your body (not just your mind) actually requires nicotine to function properly. The Richard Rocker Clinic for Functional Health Smoking Cessation Programme is unique in that it addresses both.
At The Richard Rocker Clinic for Functional Health, nutrition and supplementation is our weapon against physical addiction and this is an integral part of our Programme. We believe that only by addressing both aspects of nicotine addiction can we give you the maximum chances of success.
The Richard Rocker Clinic for Functional Health Smoking Cessation Program consists of a Four Step Process:
1. No Obligation Consultation.
Before we begin the Programme, each client is given a personal consultation. Outside factors in your day-to-day life can affect your mindset. In this consultation, we ensure that you are mentally “ready” to quit smoking. We will also give you some advice on how best to prepare yourself to quit smoking. By ensuring you enter the process in the right frame of mind, we can dramatically increase your chances of success. We at The Richard Rocker Clinic for Functional Health want you to succeed and we do not want you to spend your hard-earned money unless we (and you!) believe that you will succeed – as such, this consultation is 100% Free of Charge. If, after the consultation, you feel for any reason that our programme is not right for you, you are under no obligation to continue.
2. Hypnosis
The hypnosis session will address the psychological and ‘mind’ aspect of being a non-smoker. Many of our habits are psychological in nature and have become a subconscious habit. The initial psychological review will assist the therapist in evaluating and developing the right treatment and hypnosis session specifically for you.
3. Nutrition Plan
This is one of the big differences between our Programme and those of many of our competitors. At the Richard Rocker Clinic for Functional Health, we understand that proper nutrition has a vital role in keeping us healthy. After your hypnosis session, you will be given a personalized nutrition plan to follow. It will include a list of essential foods to eat over the weeks following your hypnosis session and a list of foods to avoid. If your system is found lacking in vital nutrients your body requires to overcome nicotine cravings, you may be provided with supplements to build your body’s reserves of those nutrients. This plan will be a key factor in helping you refrain from smoking. It will allow your body to detoxify itself of the poisonous compounds deposited by cigarette smoke and give your body essential nutrients that will help to ease or eliminate your cravings for nicotine.
4. Follow-Up Consultation
Some people find giving up smoking more difficult than others. If, after your hypnosis session, you feel that you require additional support, advice or even a further hypnosis session, we are only a phone call away. Keep in mind that less than 5% of our clients require a second session!
